Dear Parents and Carers
What a wonderful week we’ve had at SJS! The sunshine has lifted everyone’s spirits, and our children have continued to amaze us with their fantastic attitudes to learning.
As part of our ongoing commitment to keeping children safe, this week’s focus was on rail safety, and the pupils engaged brilliantly in our whole school assembly.
Our Year 6s represented our school community beautifully during their visit to the church, showing maturity and respect throughout.
Today, we were also delighted to welcome teachers from other schools and our governors to join us for our celebration assembly.
A huge thank you to all our families who came along to our celebration showcase this afternoon — it was so lovely to see you spending time with your children and sharing in their proud moments.

School Community Messages
We are absolutely delighted to share that our whole-school house point target has been achieved!
Alongside celebrating each house’s weekly successes, our pupils have also been working together as one united community to reach a collective goal — and they’ve done it in spectacular style.
Together, all four houses have earned an incredible 46,000 house points! To celebrate this amazing achievement, every child enjoyed a refreshing ice pole at lunchtime today.
We will soon be revealing our brand-new target and choosing an exciting reward for when it is reached.
Keep up the fantastic teamwork and keep collecting those house points!

Making a difference in our school
We are thrilled to share that we have received an incredible number of applications for pupil jobs this year!
It is clear that our pupils have put tremendous thought, care, and pride into their applications, and it has been wonderful to see so many children eager to take an active role in our school community.
Mrs Tearle has thoroughly enjoyed reading through each application and has been truly impressed by the wide range of skills and qualities our pupils have showcased.
We have had so many strong candidates and Mrs Tearle will be contacting our successful applicants on Tuesday next week.
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to our dedicated House Captains and Learning Ambassadors in Year 6, who generously gave up some of their free time to support other pupils with their applications — such brilliant community spirit shining across our school!

SJS Bake Off
Yesterday, our fantastic House Captains dedicated their time and energy to judging all the brilliant entries from Week 3 of our Bake Off.
They were blown away by the imagination, hard work, and delicious flavours that went into every bake.
Adults in school also enjoyed tucking into the bakes during break and lunchtime.
Every child who took part will earn house points, and the highest-scoring creations will be revealed during a whole-school assembly.

Children have been invited to create any bake of their choice inspired by the colours, symbols, and celebrations of Easter.
Our House Captains would also like to remind everyone to carefully follow the Bake Off rules each week to keep the competition fair and fun for all.
